Originating from Confucian studies, ume blossoms, orchids, bamboos, and chrysanthemums are the symbols of some of the oldest traditional Chinese virtues. They are known as the Four Gentlemen of Flowers. They also represent the four seasons throughout the year and are often used to present the circle of life. This production, choreographed by Tia Lu, draws inspiration from these four seasonal flowers, illustrating their essences through four different styles of Chinese dance.

Recipient of a gold Telly Award, Happy Woodland Pet Cemetery: Uncovering History, is directed and produced by Mountain Goat Film Company in conjunction with the Aurora Museum & Archives. Four
Canadian musicians with equally stellar pedigrees come together to form
the JUNO Award-winning New Orford String Quartet. Toronto Symphony and
Montreal Symphony concertmasters Andrew Wan and Jonathan Crow will be
joined by Montreal Symphony’s principal cellist Brian Manker and the
dynamic violist Sharon Wei. Together, they bring passion, freshness and

The program will include Schubert’s powerful
‘Death and the Maiden’ quartet, as well as a new piece commissioned by the

voice in the evolution of Québécois traditional music. Travelling
worldwide with their combo of accordion, fiddle and guitar, founders

over twenty years, the trio has earned a place of privilege on world,
traditional, folk and Celtic music stages. The trio has won over audiences

Nicaraguan-Canadian comedy celebrity and
émigré returns to Aurora with a focus on immigration to Canada. Newcomers
to the country are shaping the identity of our culture and Martha loves to
poke fun at all the issues arising. Prominent nationally from her
appearances on CBC Radio’s Because News, The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud
she will appear in "I Got My Papers" alongside Fiona O'Brien, Danish
Anwar, all hosted by Ali Hassan.

In early 2024, a group of senior citizens from York Region came together to create a short horror film called THE RUG, filmed entirely in Aurora. Their activities were funded in part by the federal government's New Horizons for Seniors Program. Be the first to watch as our seniors unleash their film into the world! In addition, local award-winning filmmaker Sean Cisterna will showcase clips from SILVER SCREAMERS, his feature documentary on the making of The Rug. Please note that this event will be filmed as part of the SILVER SCREAMERS feature length documentary. By attending this event, you consent to being filmed as part of the audience

Recipient of a gold Telly Award, Happy Woodland Pet Cemetery: Uncovering History, is directed and produced by Mountain Goat Film Company in conjunction with the Aurora Museum & Archives. The film explores the origins of the pet cemetery, believed to be the first in Canada, and the vital work of Museum staff and volunteers who have been restoring and cataloguing the burial sites of more than 800 named pets on the property. Join us for a screening of this short documentary, which will be followed by a Q & A with the filmmakers.

Blending her Mexican and South African
roots with elegance and sophistication. Amanda has four releases under her
belt, the latest is a continuation of exploring sensuous Cuban influenced
flamenco rhythms, “Recuerdo” (Memory). A mother of three with an MBA and a
steady acting career, Amanda awarded Top 10 most Influential Hispanic
Canadians by the Hispanic Congress.
SUPPORT: Eliana Cuevas, an
award-winning singer songwriter, draws on the unlimited colours in her
compositional palette. She'll be joined by her husband, keyboard player
Jeremy Ledbetter.

Steven Taetz brings it all to this
exuberant holiday show to kick off the season - featuring a mix of
familiar classics in the seasonal lineup, and songs from his newly-minted
2024 holiday album. He covers it all; Michael Bublé-style pop/swing,
Elvis' "Blue Christmas, Mariah's epic "All I Want for Christmas," a
beloved Joni Mitchell cover, classics 50s-60s pop, jazz standards and
originals. The 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award Nominee (Contemporary Roots)

Steven Taetz has a voice like none other. He's opened for Robert Plant and Allison Krauss at the Ottawa Bluesfest, appeared at the National Arts Centre, Calgary Folk, Rochester International Jazz Festival and crossed paths with artists from across musical genres throughout North America. other. Struck by lightning in her home, the chanteuse halted a career in

Ottawa Valley fiddle sensation April Verch
teams up with Missouri Ozark clawhammer banjo legend in Newberry & Verch.
Joe Newberry was a staple at Garrison Keiller’s Prairie Home Companion
radio broadcast but has found a spark with the step dancing upstart. April
Verch was the first woman to win both the Canadian Grand Masters and
Canadian Open Fiddling Championships and has released 14 recordings with
JUNO and Canadian Folk Music Award trophies that acknowledge her rank
worldwide.

Great Artist Music Series
Four
Canadian musicians with equally stellar pedigrees come together to form
the JUNO Award-winning New Orford String Quartet. Toronto Symphony and
Montreal Symphony concertmasters Andrew Wan and Jonathan Crow will be
joined by Montreal Symphony’s principal cellist Brian Manker and the
dynamic violist Sharon Wei. Together, they bring passion, freshness and
joy to each performance.
The program will include Schubert’s powerful
‘Death and the Maiden’ quartet, as well as a new piece commissioned by the
Quartet from the esteemed Canadian composer Ian Cusson. Of Métis (Georgian
Bay Métis Community) and French-Canadian descent, Cusson’s work explores
the Canadian Indigenous experience and intersection of Western and
Indigenous cultures.

High energy, magnetic stage presence and
gorgeous vocal harmonies have earned Genticorum a reputation as a leading
voice in the evolution of Québécois traditional music. Travelling
worldwide with their combo of accordion, fiddle and guitar, founders
Pascal Gemme and Yann Falquet have recently been joined Pascal Gemme. For
over twenty years, the trio has earned a place of privilege on world,
traditional, folk and Celtic music stages. The trio has won over audiences
at such prestigious events as Celtic Connections in Scotland, the Tønder
Folk Festival in Denmark, the National Folk Festival in Australia, the
Independent Music Festival in Alexandria, Egypt, the Rain Forest Festival
in Malaysia, as well as countless venues across North America. Weaving
intricate fiddle, flute and accordion lines, subtle guitar textures and
exhilarating foot percussion, the pleasure that these three musicians have
creating and playing together is palpable.

presents “One Guitar Woman” a show devoted to the female pioneers of
guitar. These are the women who were expressing themselves through the
instrument as far back as the 1920’s, at the inception of radio and

Sister Rosetta Tharpe and more. Celebrating these women of excellence, Sue
presents an evening of varied guitar styles and musical genres
