For generations, the suffering of residential school Survivors has radiated outward, impacting Indigenous families and communities. Dr. Jules Arita Koostachin's deeply personal documentary WaaPaKe (Tomorrow) moves beyond intergenerational trauma, with an invitation to unravel the tangled threads of silence and unite in collective freedom and power. Additionally, the evening will feature a film discussion following the screening. 

The Dave Mowat and Trio is an incredible Indigenous band that will transport us to a bygone era with their captivating blend of Chicago, Delta, and Country blues. Anishinaabe Grandmother Kim Wheatley will also be joining us to share her traditional storytelling knowledge.

Fiddlestix is Ontario’s premier extreme Fiddle Show, known for their captivating energy on stage and their extraordinary musicianship. Fiddlestix fused a multitude of styles including Celtic, Country, Rock, Pop, Jazz and many more with their original sound.

Recipient of a gold Telly Award, Happy Woodland Pet Cemetery: Uncovering History, is directed and produced by Mountain Goat Film Company in conjunction with the Aurora Museum & Archives. The film explores the origins of the pet cemetery, believed to be the first in Canada, and the vital work of Museum staff and volunteers who have been restoring and cataloguing the burial sites of more than 800 named pets on the property. Join us for a screening of this short documentary, which will be followed by a Q & A with the filmmakers.

Marshall Dane is a Canadian singer-songwriter, recording artist, and 5-time Male Artist of the Year Nominee (CMAO). Marshall Dane writes original Country songs that cross genres and bridges the gap between mainstream pop, rock, and new country. His performance also features an ASL sign language interpreter, making this an inclusive concert experience.

Originating from Confucian studies, ume blossoms, orchids, bamboos, and chrysanthemums are the symbols of some of the oldest traditional Chinese virtues. They are known as the Four Gentlemen of Flowers. They also represent the four seasons throughout the year and are often used to present the circle of life. This production, choreographed by Tia Lu, draws inspiration from these four seasonal flowers, illustrating their essences through four different styles of Chinese dance.

Walk the red carpet, have your picture taken at our photo booth and munch on popcorn as you enjoy four short 5 minute films by local seniors and Shadowpath artists. A facilitated talkback with the filmmakers and creative team to follow the screening with exciting announcements revealed.

Dance the night away during an immersive and personalized silent disco party. Provided with your own set of headphones and the ability to choose your favourite musical genre, you will share the Performance Hall dance floor with others who are also absorbed in their own, individual musical experience.

Legendary Canadian rock band Sloan, will headline Aurora Town Square's Grand Opening. Known for shaping the East Coast alternative scene in the 90s, Sloan features Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland, and Andrew Scott. With 250+ songs, 30 singles, and a Juno Award, they remain one of Canada’s top bands of all time. General Admission. Only respite seating available.

The Refuge Project speaks to the changing face of Aurora and reflects the theme of working together for a common goal. Including 30 amazing musicians who have come to North America as recent immigrants and refugees, each with exceptional talent and extraordinary stories, The Refuge Project celebrates the creativity, diversity, and passion of Canada’s immigrant community.

Juno-nominated R&B and Soul singer, George St. Kitts, will take centre stage as part of a cocktail lounge evening that includes Town Square themed cocktails from the Armoury and food selections from local chefs.

In early 2024, a group of senior citizens from York Region came together to create a short horror film called THE RUG, filmed entirely in Aurora. Their activities were funded in part by the federal government's New Horizons for Seniors Program. Be the first to watch as our seniors unleash their film into the world!  In addition, local award-winning filmmaker Sean Cisterna will showcase clips from SILVER SCREAMERS, his feature documentary on the making of The Rug. Please note that this event will be filmed as part of the SILVER SCREAMERS feature length documentary.
