Grand Opening Norman Dance Company
Originating from Confucian studies, ume blossoms, orchids, bamboos, and chrysanthemums are the symbols of some of the oldest traditional Chinese virtues. They are known as the Four Gentlemen of Flowers. They also represent the four seasons throughout the year and are often used to present the circle of life. This production, choreographed by Tia Lu, draws inspiration from these four seasonal flowers, illustrating their essences through four different styles of Chinese dance.
