Dr. Pasha proudly presents the second annual Polished Punchlines Comedy Gala– an evening of laughter with two of Canada’s top headliners in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association. On Thursday, November 5th, Adam Christie & Laurie Elliott take the stage at Aurora Town Square. Last year, we raised over $5,000 for mental health and addictions services in the community.

Adam Christie recently took home the Juno Award for Comedy Album of the Year. In 2019, Adam won a Canadian Screen Award for his work on the critically acclaimed show Baroness Von Sketch Show on CBC and IFC, and he is the former head writer of This Hour Has 22 Minutes. As an actor, Adam has appeared on Schitt’s Creek, What We Do in the Shadows, and The Expanse.

Laurie Elliott is a stand-up comic, actor and television writer. She is a winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and is a four-time winner of Best Female Stand Up at The Canadian Comedy Awards. Her stand-up credits include the Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival (where she was chosen by the late, great Joan Rivers to perform on her final Gala show), the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto, and a gala run at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in South Africa. She has had recurring roles/appearances on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, CBC’s The Red Green Show (she married Harold!), The Jon Dore Television Show, Match Game and The Debaters.

Hosted by Jesse Ralph Born and Raised in Newmarket, Jesse has appeared at Mike Rita’s 420 show at Just For Laughs Toronto. He’s roasted SiriusXM NHL Radio & the morning show on 102.1 The Edge. He’s featured at Rumor’s Winnipeg & The House of Comedy in BC.
