A pop hit maker with "Mimi On The Beach"
(1984) Jane was first heard in Canada on the radio but has built a
powerful reputation during her now 40+ year career. Jane defies
categorization with her blend of quirky electronica, folk and "art-pop".
Completely original and unpredictable, Jane has carved out a Canadian
identity as a ground breaking creator. Her development of Sheeba Records,
private "salon" performances and name change to "Issa", all combine to
form a long standing list of achievements. In 2025, Jane was inducted into
the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has been awarded the Polaris
Heritage Prize.
