Aurora Cultural Centre presents Lori Cullen + Talia Schlanger

October 18, 2025 - 7:30PM
Back by popular demand after her stunning
tribute to Joni Mitchell, acclaimed Toronto singer-songwriter Lori Cullen
returns to the Aurora Cultural Centre with her signature warmth and
genre-blending artistry. Known for seamlessly weaving jazz, folk, bossa
nova, and orchestral pop into a uniquely personal sound, Lori performs
songs from her new album The Thunder and The Bay—a bold, atmospheric work
shaped by poetic songwriting and electronic textures. Joined by long-time
collaborator Kurt Swinghammer and a stellar band, she’ll also revisit
acoustic favourites and fan-loved covers from her diverse nine-album
catalogue.
Opening the evening is Talia Schlanger, an unforgettable
voice in Canada’s music landscape. Known to many as the former host of
NPR’s World Cafe and CBC’s Q, Talia brings her soulful songwriting and
powerhouse band—featuring Kevin Breit, Davide Di Renzo, and Brian
Kobayakawa—to the stage. Her debut album Grace for the Going has drawn
critical acclaim for its emotional resonance, vulnerability, and lyrical
brilliance.
