Classic Lightfoot Live - The Songs Of Gordon Lightfoot

September 6, 2025- 7:30PM
Classic Lightfoot Live stands as Canada’s premier tribute to the legendary folk rocker, Gordon Lightfoot. Led by the remarkable ensemble of vocalist and guitarist John Stinson, music director and bassist Bob Doidge (Gord’s record producer), lead guitarist Eric Kidd, bassist Steve Eyers(Gord’s nephew), this show whisks you down a nostalgic journey through Lightfoot’s iconic music.

Gordon Lightfoot’s impact on music is immeasurable; he’s hailed as Canada’s greatest songwriter, shaping the folk-pop sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s. His name is synonymous with timeless tales of trains, shipwrecks, rivers, highways, love, and solitude. His repertoire, including classics like “For Lovin’ Me,” “Early Morning Rain,” and “Ribbon of Darkness,” have left an indelible mark on the world.

Classic Lightfoot Live was founded in 2012 by lead vocalist, John Stinson, a long time Ontario musician. John has been entertaining audiences around Ontario for over 30 years. He has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Gord, and his attention to replicating Gord’s original studio recordings. John was mentored to play Gordon Lightfoot music by the legendary Lightfoot lead guitarist, Red Shea.

“Others can tell, even if they don’t know how or why John’s renditions come off as being so faithful. I’ve been told before, and many did that night, they can’t believe how well John sings Gord’s tunes.” John Swartz, SunOnlineMedia. ca, Nov 2023

Aurora Cultural Centre presents Dala

June 19, 2026 - 7:30PM
With lush harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and irresistible stage presence, Dala—featuring Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine—has become one of Canada’s most beloved folk-pop duos. Winners of the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year and Juno nominees, these lifelong friends blend ethereal soprano and rich alto vocals into something truly magical.
Drawing inspiration from legends like Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan, Dala’s music is at once nostalgic and refreshingly original. Their songs are intimate, insightful, and disarmingly honest, while their engaging onstage banter turns every performance into a unique and memorable experience.
From the Newport Folk Festival to PBS specials, Dala has captivated audiences across North America. Don’t miss this enchanting evening of music, storytelling, and harmony that will stay with you long after the final note.
